ABOUT THE PROJECT

Artist Lead Practice

Building on the previous success of their Sounds of Southampton Programme, SoCo & SO Movement have come together to deliver their latest round of artist support with the goal of helping a small number of South Central artists take meaningful next steps in their career.

Each artist in the programme each received a consultation on what they want to get out of it going in, and where they felt they needed support the most.

This was followed by a series of bespoke programme of consultations, workshops and meetings to provide new skills, resources and connections for each artist to take forward in their careers.

Member Supported

As lead Partner of BLOC, SoCo took the chance to try out a member supporting delivery model for this programme, working with partners to commission them for artists support services from consolations to recording.

This model not only provides artists with the expert mentorship they requested but also supports independent regional consultants, managers, promoters and more in developing their business.

A several of BLOC’s founding members including So Young, SO Movement, Fitz Promotions & Kick Arts UK were involved in the programme and are key collaborators in the formation of BLOC’s upcoming artist development programmes.

“ONCE UPON A TIME THE CHALLENGE WAS JUST GETTING A TRACK OUT THERE, NOW WITH CHANGES IN TECHNOLOGY THE BATTLE IS NOW TO GET YOUR MUSIC HEARD.

THATS WHERE SOUNDS OF SOUTH CENTRAL COMES IN.”
